Development of Bandwidth Enhanced Microstrip Patch Antenna for UMTS Application

Abstract


In this article, a low-profile microstrip patch antenna for UMTS application is presented. A wideband coaxial probe-fed slotted microstrip patch antenna has been simulated on IE3D software to give a wide bandwidth of 31.34% and tested successfully. The simulated and measured results in terms of return loss show good agreement.
