Progressive Collapse of RC Frame Subjected to Dynamic Loading

Arvin Vawhale, Pradeep Rankhamb

Abstract

The present research work is carried on progressive collapse analysis of RCC building considering seismic effect and Time History Analysis. The spread of local damage lead to damage element to element ultimately leads to collapse of larger structure. Progressive collapse analysis is performed on high rise G+22 structure using finite element-based computer program under various loading condition. The response of RCC framed structure under seismic loading and Time History Analysis is checked in this work. Time history analysis method is used for progressive collapse analysis using Elcentro data. Columns were removed considering maximum axial forces and maximum bending moments. Results for each model were compared for Axial Forces, Shear Forces, Bending Moment, Twisting Moment, Resultant Displacement, velocity of structure, acceleration of structure is checked.

Key Words: Progressive Collapse, Demand capacity ratio, seismic loading, Time History Analysis
