Novel Method to Synthesize Thiazole-based Disperse Dyes and its Applications

Abstract


The present work aims to deal with novel method to synthesize thiazole based disperse dyes and its applications.

Design/methodology/approach: Azo dyes is tailored for utilization as the most basic and a key ingredient in dyestuff sector with potential applications in textiles, paper, plastics, printing ink, etc. The synthesis of disperse and acid dyes derived from thiazole and pyrazolone as a coupling component. Thiazole based dyes shows antimicrobial activities. The dyeing performance will be assessed on polyester fabric.

Originality/value:   The present work presents a new approach of it is to synthesize a dye which is supposed to have anti-fungal and anti-microbial properties. Also, the dye which is to be synthesized must have good fastness properties. Also, study will be conducted after dying the dye on the fibre that is it harmful or not and if it is feasible or not.

Findings:  Reduce batch times, improve reproducibility and avoid corrections. An azo coupling reaction with an activated aniline derivative, 2-aminothiazoles can produce a wide range of dye colours. A series of mono azo disperse dyes was synthesized and applied as disperse dyes on polyester fabric.
