In the present work, strength of normal beam is compared with strength of glass fibre wrapped beam to check efficiency of glass fibre wrapping in earthquake prone areas. There are several methods which can be used efficiently in the re-strengthening of RCC members such as fibre reinforced polymer wrapping, by using steel strips at various spacings to increase member strength and from increasing the existing member dimensions or sizes by reinforcing the existing member again. But from increasing sizes of the existing members, it renders to be costly and also time consuming, therefore there are two techniques which are efficiently used, which are FRP wrapping and steel strip wrapping. FRP wrapping is cost efficient and also less time consuming compared to other processes.
