Abstract

ABSTRACT: This project is particularly dealt with the possibility and analysis of using waste Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET) in M40 grade of concrete (from IRC 44) as a partial replacement of fine aggregate with varying percentage of 0%, 2.5%, 7.5%, 12.5%. Various tests performed on cement-like specific gravity, fineness, setting time, standard consistency, etc. on coarse aggregate such as sieve analysis, fineness modulus, specific gravity, etc. On fresh concrete-like slump cone test, vee-bee consistency test, and setting time are performed. The waste plastic mix concrete with super plasticizer will be tested at room temperature. 24 cubes, 16 beams, 16 cylinders will be caste to study the compressive strength, flexural strength, split tensile strength respectively in 7 days and 28 days. By investigating for all the above tests, to decide and suggest the suitability of plastic waste in concrete and the use of plastic mix concrete in Pavement Quality Concrete (PQC).
