Evolving Role of Project Managers in Construction Industry

Abstract: Project management is an important domain when referred in terms of construction industry. A project manager has a crucial role to play which involves supervising a large number of activities starting from the scratch of the project till the final completion of an architectural structure. In the recent times the domain of project management has seen a gradual shift where it no more encompasses only theoretical knowledge but also involves the practical skills to a great extent. This paper highlights the various roles and challenges involved in the project management of a construction industry. The study also aims to highlight the necessary qualities required for the successful execution of a construction project keeping in mind economic viability and customer satisfaction.
