EXPERIMENTAL STUDIES ON PUSH-OFF SPECIMEN USING CONCRETE

The present study is aiming at an experimental investigation of in-plane shear strength of normal concrete by using push-off test specimen. Different mix grade of normal concrete that is M20, M40, M60, M80 were used for the investigation which was designed using as per IS 10262-2009The dimensions of the push-off specimen were carefully selected, measuring 150mm × 150mm × 260mm, with a notch thickness of 5mm. Two notches, designed in an L-box shape, were incorporated into the specimen, each with dimensions of 150mm × 170mm × 75mm. These notches were positioned perpendicular to the loading axis. To bolster the structural integrity of the push-off specimens, reinforcement cage configurations were strategically applied to the end blocks. The line joining the notch tips is considered as the shear plane for analysis. The experimental investigations revealed a noteworthy trend: an increase in the mix grade of the Concrete led to a corresponding rise in shear stress levels.. Compressive strength of the concrete also increased for increase in the mix grade of the Concrete.References
