Review on an Ingenious System for Control of Metering System

The ingenious multifunction meter will contains the energy meter, i.e., electricity meter, gas meter and water meter. The major drawback of traditional billing system is power and energy theft. This drawback is reduced by using an ingenious energy meter, which is based on the concept prepaid system using GSM. Prepaid mode reduces the human errors while taking readings to a large extend. The recharge is done by utility through message to GSM module and the meter is charged with desired amount. Multifunction meter can control the usage of different sources on consumer side to avoid wastage of power as well as gas and water source. The system contains the use of a GSM transceiver to send the messages to the user. A relay system has been used which shut down or disconnect the energy meter and load through supply mains when the recharge amount is depleted.
