IoT-based Ingenious Parking Management System

Abstract


  With the increasing urban population and people purchasing more and more vehicles, parking is one of the most faced problems in almost all public places. Undoubtedly, people commuting by means of public transport spend hours together due to traffic and end up getting late to reach their places of interest. On the flip side, the time spent by people who travel in their own vehicles, to find a parking for themselves is no less. With time already being a major constraint when a person drives to work or study, a majority of his energy gets drained, while he battles his way through the traffic of metropolitan cities. To add to the trouble, he then would also spend a considerable amount of time finding a parking spot for his vehicle. Despite the fact that many cities have now resorted to building intra-city rail transportation and made access to remote areas easier, there has been a continuous increase in the number of automobiles and private vehicle ownership. The poor parking management in places, be it offices, schools or colleges, the parking issue still remains unresolved. To solve this issue, we have developed an IoT-based Intelligent Parking  Management System that would help users find a parking spot for themselves fast with convenience & ease. This system would save time and avoid haphazard parking of vehicles, which would otherwise cause inconvenience to not just motorists but also the passers-by.
