ABSTRACT
The report on detailing about road traffic accidents in India is designed by general and collective data with control measures and factors contributing road accidents.
Present condition in India has worsened yearly. Statistics shown from 1980 to 2005 road traffic accidents were thousands in number. Due to digitalization development according to SOI survey of India by 2017 population growth increased to 8% since 2011 uniformly vehicle import has been increased to that increased population. Accident reported is in lakhs from 2005 to 2017. In this 20 century ratios are for every minute one accident was reported and one death in every 3.7 minutes in India. 2011 is the year in which the highest RTA’s in number was recorded and numbers are 4.97 lakhs. National GDP of India decreased by 3.7% due to road traffic accidents and resulting in economic damage. Current practices to minimize RTA have not a definite policy but some mitigating measures are speed checkups, highway patrolling, speed breakers and drunken driver tests. Problems identified while in search are break failures, invisible speed breakers, unskilled drivers, no strict enforced laws, absence of sign boards in S curves, C curves, dead ends, pot holes on roads, animal passage.
Some of the control measures focus by this paper includes IVMS In vehicular monitoring system, Driver merit system DMS, Long lasting patrolling, PWD public works department for road reliability, enforcing strict laws, ban on teen driving.
Key words: Rod traffic accidents, In Vehicle Monitoring System, Magnitude of injury, Accident contributions, severity, Driver Merit System and control measures.
