Abstract

Geothermal energy is a clean and sustainable source of energy, which can be used to reduce individual carbon footprints of buildings and make environment pollutant free. This paper gives the idea of implementation and simulation of ground source heat pump (GSHP) system operating with a low enthalpy geothermal resource, which can be utilized for space heating and cooling in industrial and domestic applications. Simulation study is carried out taking various scenarios to which such a system may be subjected to during utilization to give the better coefficient of performance (COP). A review of the simulation results is the prime objective of this paper.

Keywords

Low enthalpy geothermal reservoirs, ground source heat pump, coefficient of performance
