Abstract

Increasing need of energy and its effective utilization, reduced fuel consumption and increasing output power has become major aspect in engine development and research. As non-renewable fuels are depleting day by day, there is a necessity of using alternative fuels. CNG is one of the alternate fuels. Idea of this work is to blend gaseous fuel with liquid fuel and find the performance. We implemented this in bike (4 stroke petrol engine) where the mixture of CNG and petrol are sent and the speed characteristics for various blends were found out. The novelty of this work is in the usage of blends of various compositions of petrol and CNG and find the best blend among it. After the test was done the recommended blend was B30 which represented 30% CNG and 70% petrol.
