Abstract
This research paper focuses on the assessment of the optimal solution of the twin crisis of fossil fuels and environmental degradation. This research paper focuses on engine performance and emission analysis. In order to tackle this problem, an experimental investigation of constant speed and varying load have been performed on a single cylinder spark ignition engine by using different blends of gasoline and pure gasoline fuel. The parameters taken into consideration are brake specific fuel consumption, energy-specific fuel consumption and brake thermal efficiency. The analysis was also made the basis of carbon monoxide, hydrocarbons, carbon-di-oxide and NOx emissions. The outcomes were evaluated by comparison with baseline fuel neat Gasoline. The results indicated that alcoholic fuels in neat form increase the brake thermal efficiency and are optimal alternate fuels to be utilized.
