Circularly Polarized Compact Wide Slot Microstrip-Fed Antenna for Wideband Applications
Abstract
Abstract: This paper presents a circularly polarized (CP) compact wide slot microstrip–fed antenna for wideband applications. Inverted L-shape protruding stub from the ground plane towards the center of slot permits to obtain AR <3dB. Wide slot fed with an offset microstrip feedline at an offset distance d, beneath the protruded stub. Proposed CP wide slot (WS) antenna is designed with compact size of 25 mm x 25 mm. Simulated results manifests that the CP wide Slot antenna has 107.2% (2.9–9.6 GHz) impedance bandwidth and 20.99% (5.67–7 GHz) axial ratio bandwidth (ARBW). Obtained simulated peak gain of compact WS antenna is about 8 dB at 2.92 GHz. Proposed compact CP wide-slot antenna is found to be satisfactory for WLAN and others C band wireless system.
