A CPW Fed Inverted E-Shape Microstrip Patch Antenna for Multi Band Applications

Abstract


In this paper a CPW fed multi band monopole antenna with inverted E-shape micro strip patch is presented for radar/satellite applications. Ansys soft HFSS simulator is used to simulate the antenna in this paper. The proposed antenna consists of inverted E shape patch including finite ground CPW feeding. The antenna is fabricated on 1.5 mm FR4 substrate which has dielectric constant of 4.4 and loss tangent of 0.02. The operating range of the proposed antenna is 6–14 GHz. The antenna provides three different resonant frequencies of 6.96, 10.7 and 12.78 GHz. The return losses are below –10 db at these three central frequencies. The stable omni directional pattern is shown by the proposed antenna in the desired frequency range.
