Wideband Voltage Doubling Detector with Improved Sensitivity

Abstract


The voltage doubling detector can be used to improve sensitivity in field strength meters, RF sniffers, Tuned Radio Frequency receivers and wireless power harvesting. To further boost the detector’s sensitivity, we utilize broadband transformers to efficiently transfer energy between antenna and detector. This paper presents three wideband transformers that can improve voltage sensitivity up to 6.5 times.
