Password Based Circuit Breaker using Arduino
Abstract
Nowadays, we see that there are many electrical accidents occurring to the linemen. These accidents occur when the line mans work on the repairs or damages on the electrical lines. The main reason for these accidents are due to lack of communication or miscommunication between the linemen and the substation during the repairs. A circuit breaker is basically an electric switch that operates automatically and is designed to protect the circuit from any electrical damages or short circuit. We can give password to only the authorized person and can avoid such accidents. Hence we can ensure the safety of worker by following this measure. The components used are an aurdino which works as a microcontroller and a Keypad is used to enter the password for accessing the circuit and a relay to open or close the circuit breaker and an LCD to display the message whether we have got access to the circuit or not. A light bulb is used to indicate whether the circuit breaker was open or closed. This project can be further modified to use as a door locking system and can even be used to control the electrical appliances. We have implemented our project on tinkercad.
