Non-Linear Dynamic Analysis of High-Rise Flat Slab Structure with Various Lateral Load Resisting System: Indian Scenario
Abstract
In this technological era, the construction of high-rise flat slab structure is increasing everywhere, due to its major advantages over a conventional beam slab structure. Due to the poor performance of high-rise flat slab structure in higher seismic zones, IS 1893 (Part 1): 2016 discourages the use of flat slab structure in higher seismic zones. The use of high-rise flat slab structure in high seismic region is a risk, because it is not efficient to resist the lateral loads. This study is considered for increase the lateral force carrying capacity of irregular high-rise flat slab structure using lateral load resisting systems like shear wall system, bracing system and peripheral beams. In this study G+9 storied irregular high-rise flat slab structure is analyzed for different lateral load resisting system using non-linear dynamic analysis i.e., time history method. For non-linear dynamic analysis, the realistic Bhuj and Uttarkashi earthquake data is referred. The analysis work is carried out by using software ‘ETABS’. The comparison of various lateral load resisting system is done by using assessment parameters like maximum storey displacement and maximum storey drift. The effect of response reduction factor on the irregular high-rise flat slab structure is also analyzed.
