Modelling and Simulation of MPPT Boost Converter in MATLAB

Nilesh D. Patel

Abstract

In this study we are trying to increase efficiency of solar PV plant by implementing MPPT Boost converter. In solar PV plant, input is solar incident radiation which is continuously varying. This will result in less efficient working of solar PV modules. By using maximum power point tracking algorithm implemented in boost converter, we can operate solar PV modules on their maximum power output. This will increase output of PV array and hence output of solar PV plant. We are performing this in MATLAB Simulink software and using MATLAB functions to implement MPPT algorithm.
