Wireless sensor network is a well-known technology. Resent development in the wireless technology open gates for making an efficient wireless network with no or very infrastructure. Wireless sensor network uses battery power to energize sensor nodes. Due to small size of sensor node, we cannot put big battery that is why it is very important to optimize the protocols to save energy. There are various techniques to optimize the WSN protocol. This review paper talks about the genetic algorithm, an optimization technique for optimization of stochastic or robust protocols.
