Abstract

Abstract

In the modern era, day-by-day urbanization has increased swiftly and waste production is also increasing day-by-day in the cities. Waste management has emerged as a major challenge for the cities. By the help of this paper we can achieve this good cause. In this paper, we are presenting the idea of smart bin which is based on Arduino and GSM modem Ultrasonic sensor is interfaced with GSM modem. Ultrasonic sensor will used to measure the stature of the dustbin, and it will place at the top the dustbin 10 cm is set as threshold stature. We programmed Arduino in such a manner when the dustbin is filled, the remaining height from the threshold height will be displayed. When the garbage reaches the threshold level ultrasonic sensor trigger the GSM modem due to which required authority will get the status of dustbin and when to squash. People can use it again when the dustbin is squashed. Dustbin is squashed at the regular interval. When these smart bins are implemented on a large scale, by replacing our bins present today, we can manage wastes on a large scale unnecessary lumping of wastes on roadside. Due to these rotten wastes is a big reason for the foul smell and various problems lead due to the ignorance of authorities breeding of mosquitoes and insects is responsible for unclean environment around promoting unclean environment is created by Breeding of insects and mosquitoes. They will cause dreadful diseases.

Keywords: GSM, ultrasonic sensor trigger, Ultrasonic sensor, Arduino, unclean environment
