Using AHP in Belt Conveyor Selection Problem

Abstract

 

Belt conveyor plays a dominating role in screening creaser. The performance of belt conveyor is primary issue for screening creaser. There are various criteria which affect the performance of belt conveyor. Selection of belt conveyor is a Multi-criteria Decision Making (MCDM) problem. In that respect there are many methods available for selection of belt conveyor; however this paper targets to explore the applicability of AHP to solve belt conveyor selection problem. In the analytic hierarchy process (AHP), a decision maker first gives linguistic pairwise comparisons, then obtains numerical pairwise comparisons by selecting certain numerical scale to quantify them, and finally derives a priority vector from the numerical pairwise comparisons.
