Dynamic Approach to Evaluate Costing through Software with Integration of CAD/CAM

Harshvardhan Pandey

Abstract

This paper provides the approach to evaluate costing of a model through the use of CAD/CAM integration with establishing rules and scripting. Costing includes the direct and indirect cost of the product. The earlier process of cost estimation was laborious for engineers and it takes long time to evaluate the cost of a finished product. This methodology provides the knowledge to integrate software technology with production knowledge by establishing the rules into the software and provide approximate total cost of a part or model. The use of software technology depends upon programming and these features of programming must be incorporated into the software, so this will provide a dynamic window onto the side of working area of the software, after taking the use of parametric data it generates automatic information about the costing of a model. The use of this automation technology for generation of cost data will automatically form a dynamic environment for the designer to get a basic idea of finished product. This capability in software will provide comfort to the designer for such a huge calculation which will lead to the easy cost estimation process to evaluate the cost of the finished product. In this paper, costing is performed the help of an example of compound wedge type of jack mechanism with integration to CAD module by use of proper hierarchy and then provide programming rules using into the model.
