Abstract

In this paper, the supply system for railway electrification is reviewed in its current status. In this essay, the direct current supply system and the alternating current supply system, respectively, are discussed. The supply collecting method, advantages, and energy effectiveness of the train electrification system are all outlined. The most widely used form of transportation in India is the railway. The fact that the majority of the railroad line is electrified increases the need for electricity. A locomotive powered by Indian Rail is only powered by two of the three phases of a three-phase electric power supply. This voltage drop also affects the three-phase supply line and the OHE, which has the effect of making the loco's motor operate inefficiently. The circuit breakers may trip due to an excessive load without any problem on the line. Numerous studies are being conducted to try to solve this issue; a few are listed in this publication. The article illustrates the current state and development of Indian railroad.
