Securing Internet of Things (IoT) Using Machine Learning Methods

Nilesh Uke, Trupti Thite

Abstract

Abstract

Internet of Things is enhancing our quality of life by developing several real-life smart applications which integrates billions of smart devices; communicating with one another with minimal human intervention. But due to its multidisciplinary components makes IoT services vulnerable to many issues. Apart from other techniques for security measures such as encryption, authentication and access control; Machine Learning ply important role in securing IoT and its aligned services. This article throws light on powerful methods of Machine Learning for secured communication between I oT devices. Main objective of this work is to provide a significant but brief review of ML methods and recent advances that can be used to develop enhanced security methods for IoT systems. We discuss the opportunities and challenges involved in applying ML to IoT security. These opportunities and challenges can serve as potential future research directions.
