A Review on Wireless Sensor Network and LEACH Protocol

Himanshi Sharma, DR. C.B Prasad

Abstract

This paper looks at the fundamentals of wireless sensor networks and clusters. Wireless Sensor Networks have recently risen to the top of the research agenda. Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) are a hot topic in computer science and telecommunications nowadays. Data aggregation is carried out in WSN. Sensor nodes are used to identify data, information, and targets, as well as to continuously monitor data. Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) are networks of small sensors that are mostly used for monitoring. Individual sensors have the ability to detect events taking place in their deployment region. It also covers research into WSN communication and routing techniques. In this paper routing protocol named LEACH has been introduced. There is a strong motivational point selecting LEACH protocol. LEACH stands for Low Energy Adaptive Clustering Hierarch. It contains nodes (having information) are divided into cluster.  The node first senses the data/information and then sends the information to its cluster-head. The cluster head then combines and compresses the data received from all nodes before sending it to the base station.
