Abstract

The research work of square hole digger is based on civil construction and agriculture applications. One of the main challenges faced in the construction industry is to dig a square hole for laying pillar beams. The current systems and methods used for digging purpose are not achieving correct dimensions. The main challenge in the construction site was to dig a square hole for pillar beams with correct dimensions, and also the excavator was unable to access the construction site. The time taken if the square hole was to be dug manually would be 12 hours. If the square hole was to be dug by an excavator, it took 13 hours and hole would be sized uneven. The sizing operation is to be done manually and it takes 36 hours. To overcome the above drawbacks, the square hole digger is designed and its performance is tested in this research work.
