The main objective of this paper is to analyse and discuss the stress distribution of a household refrigerator under a given load and decide whether the material of the model is suitable and feasible for household conditions or not. In this paper, static stress analysis is done on the tray of the household refrigerator. The geometric model used for analysis is created using Autodesk Fusion 360 and the analysis is done by Finite Element Analysis (FEA) using Finite Element Method (FEM) in the Simulation tab of Autodesk Fusion 360 itself. The material used here for the tray of the household refrigerator is Aluminium 5454 O Cold Formed. Rather than using Aluminium 5454, Aluminium 5454 hardened by cold working to the form of Aluminium 5454 O Cold Formed is used. Aluminium 5454 O Cold Formed has better strength than Aluminium 5454. Since the household refrigerator will be used in almost every household all over the world, the boundary conditions used here, the pressure on the tray and the fixed supports at the bases, are chosen after careful consideration of actual household conditions. After the pressure is applied and fixed supports are applied at the bases, the household refrigerator is studied under static stress analysis. A report is then generated by Autodesk Fusion 360 after the analysis is completed. After the observing the results of safety factor, structural deformation and Von-Mises stresses from the report by Autodesk Fusion 360, the selected material is discussed about and is finalized. This study may be used for future references.References
