Abstract

One of the basic problem of the user on manual wheelchair is architectural barrier and overcoming obstacles by a wheelchair always remains as topic of discussion for many researchers. This project involves an Functional design and fabrication of an stair climbing functionality will be upgraded by changing its structure design and mechanism. The important parts of this product are Styrene Butadiene rubber belt, frame and driving mechanism climbing wheelchair for regular use by disabled people. The design of frame will be done by considering different type of load, different type of stresses on different positions. The main factor of wheelchair is laid on the angle of stair and centre of gravity of whole system. Understanding the various issues concerning the function of wheelchair and introduce a advance design that will be an help for the disabled people. From this project we hope to build an alternative wheelchair and their mechanism system for the needful users.
